purpose of the module is to provide you with approaches
and techniques for using computer-based ICT's to support
your mathematics classroom practice and to share and
reflect on these experiences in a community of mathematics
educators. |

This first activity aims to place
Mathematics teaching firmly within the context of
the the curriculum, and looks at the potential
of Maths as a subject to contribute to the achievement
of assessment standards.

exploring the different types of resources that are
available on the Internet. A range of links to websites
on Mathematics are provided for browsing, providing
an exciting introduction to the wealth of ideas, lesson
plans, projects and other downloadable resources,

In this activity you will review
a mathematics website of your choice, and begin to
build up a record of the resources you (and your group
members) have discovered. You will also learn to be
more critical of the information you find on websites.

You will now be required to visit
websites offering freeware or shareware and to test
and evaluate their potential for your teaching.

to review (read about) commercial software and to
report on it. You are not required to buy or try out
