Bias means to present only
one perspective or point of view. If information is biased
it gives only one side of the story. The purpose of this activity
is to help you to identify bias in information
Before you do this activity,
we suggest that you read a short article on Detecting
bias.

Look at the two websites
below (A and B) and answer the following questions:
1.1 Can
you detect any bias in the information that
is contained in these sites?
1.2 What makes you think that there
is / is not bias in these sites.
Share the answers of 1.1
and 1.2 with your group by sending to
your group.

2
This assignment is to be done
once you have completed Activity 10.
Base this assignment on your
understanding of the reading and activities you
have completed in Activities 9 and 10.
What to do:
Use the hyperlink function in
an application of your choice to compile a list
of 10 websites that support teaching and learning
in a specific learning area and phase. Pin each
resource to a curriculum learning outcome and/or
assessment standard.
Using a list of evaluation criteria
that you have drawn up yourself, evaluate the
credibility of each site. The list should include
at least 6 criteria.
What to submit:
You should preferably include
the hyperlinked list and the criteria in one document.
If you use linked web pages, Zip these into one
file.
Save your list of resources
as <your_student_number>-Core2A-resources
e.g. 205654321-Core2A-resources
Send the saved file as an attachment
in e-mail
to your tutor (using the subject heading "Core2A Assignment2").
