Activity 6: Plan of action

Having done several activities in this module, it is now time to consolidate everything into a clear plan.

Your ICT development plan should be part of the whole school improvement plan. However, for the purposes of this module, a section of this plan should be self contained and focused on your ICT priority area for the school.

As you develop this plan make sure that you leave room for it to be updated. Your ICT plan will be made available to other members of your group, so make sure that you include all the details required.

Activity

When planning for ICTs, there is a need to consider success indicators of effective ICT development.

These assist with:

target setting and
the monitoring of progress towards set targets.

View the ICT success indicators diagram. This diagram highlights some indicators and outcomes of successful ICT development in a number of priority areas for schools introducing/using ICTs. Use a document called Draft plan to make notes for yourself.
Use this initial ICT planning template to identify what:

you have already achieved,
are achieving and
still want to achieve at your school,
as far as ICTs are concerned in your chosen area of priority.

Develop your own plan of action for your ICT priority areas. These guidelines on developing a plan of action may be useful. Save the plan in a document called Plan of action.
Share your Plan of Action with your group online.
Comment on at least two of the plans of action submitted by your group members.

Finalise your plan of action and:

present the "plan of action" as a draft to your staff and ask for feedback;
after receiving feedback, finalise your plan of action and display it in the staff room.

Make closing comments in your e-diary.
