This section will deal with issues around ICT infrastructure and security.
The theft of equipment in schools could be a realistic concern in your community. A school must therefore ensure that there is adequate
security before it proceeds in purchasing any equipment. .
-
The implications regarding
the use of equipment after school hours must be considered.
-
Schools that have access
to Internet must enforce certain rules and the educationally
accountable use of the Internet. Abuse of the facility
at institutional expense (e.g. visiting pornographic sites),
must be avoided.
-
The use of passwords
or, if necessary, strong measures must be enforced to
protect confidential data, e.g . examination papers
etc.
This activity will take you through
issues that deal with different security measures for schools
with ICTs. This pathway is appropriate for all schools that
