School security issues concern every member
of the community. In your area, there are neighbouring schools
which are also dealing with school safety. It is important
to continuously share information with other schools about
safety and security.
Activity
Prepare a 3 slide presentation
that aims at sharing information with your group.
Indicate the type of security and infrastructure that
your school has. In working out this presentation,
involve members of your staff. The presentation must
include the following information:
A brief description
of your school infrastructure and security system.
The strength of
the existing infrastructure and security atyour
school.
The weaknesses
of the system in place.
Also, suggest additional measures
that can be implemented at the school in the short
term to safeguard existing and planned for ICTs.
Save the presentation in a file called School ICT security policy.
Share your document with the group online (using the subject heading"ICT Security Policy").
Make sure that you give
feedback to at least two of your group members to
help them improve their structures and system. Collect
all the comments that you will receive concerning
your school and work together with educators at your
school to adopt and/or adapt any relevant comments
that you have received.
After this discussion with your
group members, produce the remainder of your slide
show. Prepare 4- 5 more slides on

Your long term
Plans for improvement at my school
to safeguard ICTs.
Send your complete slide show -
with your short, medium and long term plans for your
school as an attachment in email to
your tutor (using the subject heading "ICT Security Policy").
Make closing
comments in your e-diary.
