Activity

Use your e-diary to make initial comments.

  1. Use a graphics programme and a Web page editor to make a first draft of your website's graphic design:
  • Choose a colour scheme for your page background and text colour.
  • Decide on a logo or graphic that will give your pages a consistent identity.
  • Decide on the page layout remembering to include consistent text graphics, navigation, menus, and sub-menu structures.
  • Present these on a Web page.
  • Be sure to include the main elements of the page i.e. a place for a page heading, menus, and text.
  1. Share your design by publishing the page and the images to the web server.
  2. Share your website address with the group by sending a message to your group (using the subject heading "Page Layout and Design").
  3. Provide feedback to at least two people in your group about their designs. Make changes to your design as you receive feedback from your group.

    Note:

    1. If you want to be able to see what your page would look like on the Web, you should browse to the website after publishing it.
    2. If you do not have a graphics software package, a 30-day trial of Paint Shop Pro 7 is provided on this CD in the /program folder. We recommend that you view the tips for Paint Shop Pro, as these will give you valuable advice about graphics.
