The home page is important because this is the first time that users will view your website. So you want to attract their attention.

If you would like to understand better what you need to put on a home page before starting this activity, we suggest you read a short article called Requirements for a home page.

The purpose of this activity is to get you to design a home page, that will have the same general design elements of all the other pages.


Activity

Use your e-diary to make initial comments.

  1. Design a home page with the main elements on it, as mentioned in requirements for a home page.
  2. Save the file as a Web page with the name index.htm.
  3. Share your home page with the group by sending a message to your group (using the subject heading "Home Page") in which you remond them of your website address.
  4. Give at least two of your group members feedback as you view their home pages. Make changes to your home page as you receive feedback.
  5. Once you have your final version notify your tutor by sending a message to tutor (using the subject heading "Home Page").
