Heroes-different things to different people

As you've probably realised our main thrust of today's "Micklefield Express" is heroes. There are many types of heroes, infact even animal heroes. My opinnion of a hero or heroine may not necessarily be knight in shining armour rescuing the princess from a wicked dragon, but just someone who never gives up or guides you in the right path of life. A good role model.

There are many heroes around us but they are often not acknowledged. Our front page focuses on political prisoners or people imprisoned for their beliefs. During the difficult times many political heroes emerged in South Africa. One of them is the president of our country, Mr Nelson Mandela. Our front page feature article is about Mr Eddie Daniels who was imprisoned at the same time.

In the new South Africa everyone has the chance to be a hero by making compromises and sacrifices by working together to make a better future for our nation.
