Luambe National Park

In the eastern part of Zambia is the Luambe National Park, which covers about 240 square kilometers of flood plains of the Lwangwa River. The park is open to visitors throughout the year. However, apart from the one road that passes through the park, there are no other internal roads in the park. There are also no camping or other facilities. Therefore, visitors need to carry their own food, water, petrol and all other supplies. The animals observed in the park include the lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo and antelopes. Hazards in this park include malaria and the tsetse fly.
