Purpose
The purpose of the module is to provide
an understanding of how learners learn and what kind of
teaching and learning activities are sound in an OBE system
and most conducive to the use of ICT as a tool to enhance
teaching and learning in the classroom.
The first section of
this unit aims to explore what is meant by learning. You
will look at different approaches to learning and explore
some of the factors that influence learning. You will also
reflect on your own learning and identify ways to help you
learn successfully. In the balance of the unit, we will
describe three approaches to learning: the information-processing
approach, social-cognitive theory and behaviourism. We will
also consider some of the application of these approaches
in the classroom, and the ways in which these approaches
help us understand learners' behaviour.
Learning Outcomes
