Activity 4: Finalising your criteria for review of software

Finalise your criteria

2 hrs

In Activity 2 you considered some formal and quite academic criteria. In Activity 3, you explored how real teachers around the world have reviewed software. You should now be able to define your own framework for reviewing software in your context. In this activity, you finalise your evaluation criteria. By doing this you will be creating an authentic tool to use when reviewing your own choice of software products in the next few activities.

Activity

Instructions

  1. Review the ten criteria you developed in Activity 2 and combine them with any new ideas you found in Activity 3. Try not to make your list too long (but you may have more than ten if you want to!).

  2. Produce an evaluation template that you will use to evaluate the software that you have identified for potential use in your class / school. Consider this example and produce something in a similar style. Save it in a file using the name Review.

  3. Share the file called Review online with your group (using the subject heading "Final Criteria"). Make sure that you or your group members have not just copied the example in step 2. Comment on evaluation templates that you think will benefit from your input by writing a message to the person concerned.

Note that you will be using this evaluation template in the next three activities.
