Activity

Monument High School has just received a donation of 10 computers from an Education NGO. One of the requirements by the donors was that they want to see all 20 staff members at the school develop their skills in using ICTs to integrate the curriculum and professional development programmes of the school. The school has been given five months to achieve this goal.

Amongst the twenty staff members, only five know how to word process and use spreadsheets. Two of the staff members know how to search on the web. Fortunately for this school, due to the 1-day training that they had on computers, most of them still remember how to log on and off.
  1. If you were part of the SMT of this school what steps would you follow in order to achieve the donor requirements? Write your ideas in this document: ideas for Monument High School.
  2. Participate in a group discussion online (using the subject heading "Ideas for Monument High School"). Discuss your ideas with your group. Do you think that five months is a realistic timeline for achieving the outcome that this school was set?
