Read the information provided on:

Staff development and support; and

How will the role of the leader change with ICTs?

This includes information about how ICT can impact on the teaching profession. Some ideas may have sparked your imagination to consider broad possibilities in the use of ICTs in your school.

Instructions
  1. Make some notes in a document called Barriers to staff development about the impact that should be achieved by educators using computers.
  • What do you think might prevent this goal from being reached in your school? How is this related to staff development issues?
  • What can be done to ensure that your school's ICT staff development goal is reached?
  1. Participate in a group discussion online mentioning one barrier to the successful implementation of ICT staff development in your school. Ask the group to give you advice. Once you have received comments/advice from the group, make further notes in your Barriers to staff development document which identifies how you are going to tackle the barrier to success.

  2. Send the document as an attachment in an email to your tutor (using the subject heading "Task1 Staff development").
