Activity
Instructions
  1. Read this letter from worried parents who are complaining about the additional money that has been requested from them by the school for ICTs. As a member of the School Management Team (SMT), think carefully how will you motivate these parents to support your school.

You may find the school's vision for ICTs diagram useful to get ideas on how ICTs can enhance various areas of functioning in the school. Make notes to yourself on ideas to include in your response to the letter.

  1. Now, write a letter to respond to the parents' complaints in the letter. Explain and motivate to them why the introduction of these ICTs at your school will be beneficial to learners. Explain how will they support other areas of functioning at the school as well.
  1. Copy your letter into a message to your group (using the subject heading "Response to parent"). Respond to letters sent to you by your group, highlighting points with which you particularly agree or disagree.
