The next four activities are
about exploring the different types of resources that are
available on the Internet. You will be looking at some given
websites and identifying the different types of resources
that are available on these sites. You will be asked to complete
a tick table to record what is available.
It is very useful to be able
to save websites and view them offline, so as to keep phone
costs down. If you need help on this, please consult the tip
sheet on saving websites.
You will also be asked to share
some of your opinions with your colleagues by writing a short
review of a site and what is available on it.
In these activities you will:
- Explore and review given mathematics
related websites to produce a tick table that accurately
categorises what types of resources are available on each
site.
- Use a set of criteria to rate one of
these above websites in relation to what might be
useful in your classroom and share this with your group.
- Explore and review freely available software
on the Internet, as well as commercial software.
