Activity 9: Testing the plan

Will my learners be engaged by my unit?

The best way to find out the answer to this question is to "put on the learner's boots" and to try the unit out from the perspective of the learner. In so doing you will gain a unique perspective of the value of your module. Be reflective as you complete the module. Have you succesfully applied the lessons that you have learnt during this module?

Your tutor will allocate you an online partner and you will be required to work through that person's unit and give them feedback.

 

Activity

  1. Work through your own unit, performing as many of the tasks as it is practically possible to do. As you come across problem areas, call on your group for ideas.

  2. Participate in an online discussion with the group (using the subject heading "Unit review") in which you raise any issues related to your experience of working through your unit from a learner persepctive.

  3. Complete the unit self-assessment form and save it in your portfolio folder.

  4. Work through the unit that your online partner has designed and sent to you. Be reflective and critical about the work as you do so. Use the unit feedback template to assist you as you provide feedback. Send a copy of the final feedback form as a file attachment in email to your tutor and your online partner (using the subject heading "Unit Review").

  5. Update your unit Implementation Plan according to what you have learnt during this activity. Save the final version and send it as a file attachment in email to your tutor (using the subject heading "Final implementation plan").

  6. Once your tutor and your collaborative partner have given you feedback on both the unit and the implementation plan, share the document online with your group (using a subject heading that describes the title of your project).

    Use your e-diary to make closing comments about this activity.
