Bias means to present only one perspective or point of view. If information is biased it gives only one side of the story. The purpose of this activity is to help you to identify bias in information

Before you do this activity, we suggest that you read a short article on Detecting bias.

Bias

  1. Look at the two websites below (A and B) and answer the following questions:


    1.1  Can you detect any bias in the information that is contained in these sites?
    1.2  What makes you think that there is / is not bias in these sites.
    B.   Deforestation

  2. Share the answers of 1.1 and 1.2 with your group by sending to your group.

Use your e-diary and in one sentence try to explain how you can recognise whether the information in a website is biased.
