Introduction The
aim of this web-site is provide you with problem-solving lessons that you can use in your
primary maths programme. The lessons provide coverage of Levels 1 to 4 of Mathematics in
the New Zealand Curriculum.
The lessons contained in this site can be accessed by
either curriculum strand or by problem solving strategy .
The site also includes Problem Solving Information.
This provides you with practical information about how to implement problem solving in
your maths programme as well as some of the philosophical ideas behind problem solving.
If you want further support with problem solving in your maths programme we have
established a Questions & Answers facility so that you
can get answers to any specific questions you might have. Educators with experience in
problem solving and primary classrooms will address your specific questions or concerns.
The site will be regularly monitored and refreshed. We invite you to Submit Your Own problem solving lessons for inclusion in the
site at our next update. Those lessons published in the site will receive a voucher
payment.
If you have had little experience with web-sites, then you might find it useful to
spend some time initially browsing through the Help facility. If you double click on the word "Help" in the
last sentence, you will go straight there.
