There are 14 department paid members of staff and one teacher
paid by an overseas donor.Teacher Aides are employed when finances permit. These Teacher Aides are appointed to each grade
and shared among the teachers. There
is one department paid secretary and one department paid general assistant at the school. There is a further parent paid general assistant
who assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the school premises. Communication
with staff is through a daily bulletinboard, a weekly notice of past and forthcoming
events, a weekly meeting, and regular staff development workshops. Planning Days are held annually in November to
plan and organise for the following year. The Governing Body comprises five parent representatives, two educator
representatives, one non-educator representative and the Principal. Other members are co-opted for their expertise
from time to time. The Governing Body meets
at least quarterly. INTRODUCTION Carrington Heights is a modern, fully equipped school situated in Upper Glenmore, close to the University of Natal. SCHOOL FEES School fees are reviewed annually by the Governing Body and then
presented to the parents for approval at a Budget meeting. Discounts are available for families in the school (R10 per sibling) Discounts are also available for early payment of fees in full
before the end of the first term (R10) The fees for 2001 are R100 per term (R400 p.a.) There is an Admission Fee payable on acceptance into the
school. This fee for 2001 is R60 plus the 1st terms fees. The
Admission Fee is non-refundable. Thus total for a new learner to the school is R460

learners in the Foundation and Intermediate Phases, offering a holistic education
programme aimed at building a sense of self-worth, and fostering a partnership between
