Mlawula Nature Reserve

The Mlawula Nature Reserve is located in northeastern Swaziland and covers an area of 18,000 hectares. The main vegetation of the park is thorn savanna and open grasslands on the slopes of the Lebombo mountains, on the Mozambique border. Tourists can visit the park throughout the year and stay at the two camping sites. Fishing is allowed in the park. Moreover, visitors can undertake walking safaris, stay on hides or go for drives to view animals such as the crocodiles, hippo, leopard, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck, eland, and spotted hyena. There are also about 300 species of birds in the park. Crocodiles and malaria are a danger to visitors.
