Activity 10: Linking pages

Create linking pages: 2 hrs

2 hrs

The purpose of this activity is to get you to link your pages together from the home page and with each other, where appropriate.

You should now have the template, a home page, and most of the information in separate Web page documents. In order to navigate between these documents, however, you need to link them. You should be aware of whether you want your pages to be linked in a linear or nonlinear way. One way in which the strength of a website is measured is by the extent to which:

  • Sections of information in the same Web site link to each other; and
  • Links to additional, reliable information on other websites are provided.

Before beginning this activity you might like to read an article on How pages can link to each other. You might also like to look through these tips on Hyperlinks. Before you link pages to each other, the separate pages should have been created and saved as separate web pages.
