The purpose of this activity
is for you to create a budget in a spreadsheet. You can refer
to the tip sheets that are provided. These tip sheets are available
as links throughout the activity, but you can also reach them
by using the Tips menu or the search button at the top of this
page.
First read through all the points
below and then proceed with the activity step by step, according
to your previous experience.
1. You will be creating a budget spreadsheet like the one used
by Senzo in the case study.
Note: the currency symbol in this example is an R. This will differ for your country.

If you still feel unsure about
using a spreadsheet, we recommend that you follow
the explanations step-by-step.
Save your work regularly as you work on this budget. Save to
a file called Budget.
OR
If you feel comfortable with using a spreadsheet, print out the
spreadsheet developed by Senzo. Use the printout to create a budget
like Senzo's one.

Remember to use a formula to calculate the amounts in B7, B25
and B26. In other words, do not type in an amount that the spreadsheet
can calculate the total for you.
2. Once you have completed the spreadsheet, save the file called
Budget and send it as a file attachment in email to
your tutor (using the subject heading "Budget") .
