Use your e-diary to make initial comments about the activity. If this is the first time that you are using the e-diary in this module click here to
open the e-diary, save it to your personal folder after writing your comments

Note: Your tutor will have indicated to you which format to use for your e-diary. The Word document linked above gives you the basic template for a reflective journal, but your tutor may require you to use another tool such as a blog to capture your reflections. If you are unsure, consult your tutor.
  1. Read the your science curriculum / standards document.
  • Look at some of the web page information below that summarises some of the trends in science both here and in other countries in the world. Then use the document why science to write short notes on the question:

  1. Participate in a group discussion with your group (using the subject heading "Why Science?") and discuss the question: "Why scoence is an essentials sbject in our schools".

  2. Read the comments of your group and respond to at least two, either to agree or disagree on certain points about which you feel strongly.

  3. Complete your e-diary about this activity.
