The purpose of Activity 3 is to assist you
to begin planning for ICTs in your school. By the end of this
activity, you will have reviewed your school's vision and
mission statements, and how they relate to ICT's, and after
conducting two different SWOT analyses, you will be able to:
- Describe where your school is now in
a general sense - the strengths and weaknesses overall,
and
- Describe where your school is now with
regard to ICTs and planning.
Planning is about making decisions.
The planning
diagram shows that planning happens in three basic steps.
As a school you need to work out:
1. Where you are now (Activities 3A to
3C);
2. Where you want to be;
3. What you have to do to get there.
In this activity,
you are going to go through these three steps of planning
with specific reference to ICTs.
