Now that you have gone through processes and exercises in this module, do you examine the whole school diagram differently? View the whole school diagram again.

Activity
  1. While viewing the whole school diagram answer the following questions in your e-diary :
  • Has the journey so far been smooth or hard going? What lessons have you learned so far?
  • Have any of your aspirations for the school changed now that you have completed this module? If so, what are they? If not, do you feel that the school's vision is on track?
  • Identify which key areas will be focus points for your continued learning about ICTs, their uses and ways to plan for them at your school. How will you support your own continued learning?
  1. Answer the following questions in your e-diary under Final reflections.
  • As a leader who is human like everyone else, what aspects of your own leadership practice will you strive to improve on? Explain why.
  • While focusing on certain priority areas at the school, how will you lead, balance and manage the dynamics of the whole school during this period of transition?
  • Given your knowledge of the school, what aspects of the school will require your focused attention? Explain how you will handle these aspects.
  1. Participate in an online discussion with your group in which you share your final reflections.

  2. Make closing comments in your e-diary.
ASSIGNMENT 2

This assignment should be completed after the last activity of the module. Most of the activities in the module will assist you towards completing the assignment.

What to do:

Devise and implement a detailed strategy for developing a shared vision for ICT at your school. Include the following:

  • A presentation outlining your strategy and an explanation of the options you have at each stage and why you have made the decisions that you have. Include content developed in Activities 7-9
    • Principles of leadership in ICT
    • Learning area visions
    • Motivation for change
    What changes you would like to see
    • Schedule for development of this vision

Hold a series of meetings in which you share this vision with members of the school management and ICT committee.

  • Record who you meet including:
    • The purpose of the meeting
    • The date and time of the meeting
    • The media/resources that you took to the meeting
    • The outcome of the meeting
    • A reflection on the meeting
      • how this meeting has helped you to achieve your strategy
      • how you need to change your strategy as a result of the meeting

What to submit:

Save the presentation as <your_student_number>-Elective8-vision-presentation . e.g. 205654321-Elective8-vision-presentation

Save the record and analysis of your meetings in one file called <your_student_number>-Elective8-meeting-records .
e.g. 205654321-Elective8-meeting-records

Save your e-diary as <your_student_number>-Elective8-ediary .
e.g. 205654321-Elective8-ediary

Save your collaboration log as <your_student_number>-Elective8-collaboration.
e.g. 205654321-Elective8-collaboration

Submit the saved reflection document, the e-diary and collaboration log as file attachments in e-mail to your tutor (using the subject heading "Leadership - Assignment 2 ").
