Creating a WebQuest

Before you start

Use this checklist:

  1. Have you thought of a good opening statement and image. This will "grab" the learners attention. you will provide this during the "Introduction".

  2. Do you have a clear idea of what the learners will do during the activity and produce by the end of the WebQuest? You will describe this to them in the "Task" section.

  3. Have you thought of 3 or 4 roles that the learners could play? These would usually involve different interest groups or perspectives of the issue, so that different members of the group can search different information and bring specialised viewpoints back to the group.

  4. Have you researched and provided a list of useful websites for the learners?

  5. Do you have a clear idea of how you will break down the learning process into specific instructions and/or leading questions.

  6. Do you have a clear idea of how you will assess the learning? You will provide this in a rubric in the "Evaluation" section.
