How does assessment practice enhance learning?

You may have completed a previous module on Assessing Information Literacy. If this topic interests you and you have not completed that module, we recommend that you register for that module after you have completed this module. You may browse the activities of Core Module 2B - Assessment and ICT Integration, but we recommend that you read the following content from that module before proceeding with this activity:

 

Activity
  1. Use the Assessment Plan template to design an assessment outline for your unit.

  2. Design at least one assessment tool that will assist you and others to give the learner formative feedback during the unit. This could refer to group work, peer assessment, research skills, website evalution etc. Read more about assessing the process.

  3. Design at least one assessment rubric that will be used to assess and provide feedback to the learners after the final presentation of their ideas. This would depend on what kind of output options you will give the learners e.g. will it be a presentation, a website etc? Read more about assessing the product.

  4. Complete Section D of your implementation plan and send the plan as a file attachment in email to your tutor (using the subject heading"Implementation Plan D").

    Use your e-diary to make closing comments about assessment.
