During this module, we would prefer you
to look for information which you can use in your classroom.
Identify a section of work that you will be covering in class
later this year, preferably once you've completed this module.
List some of the open-ended
questions about this section of work to which you would
like to find information. Remember that open-ended questions
do not have obvious answers, and usually an "answer"
is achieved by producing new information e.g. an opinion or
point of view, backed up by factual information.
The purpose of these questions is for you
to be able to:
- Compare how different search techniques
give you different answers when searching for the same information;
- Decide which search techniques suit your
needs best;
- Use information to produce new information
(new understanding, ideas and opinions);
- Present similar questions to your learners
so that they, too, may produce new information.
You may, of course, search for information
on more than one section of work during this course. However,
we would like you to focus on one section and work on that
throughout the course.
If you have ever studied the module on
Questioning and Thinking Skills, you could use the questions
that you asked in the last activity of that module.
