Reports Mr. Buckman's Second Grade Class |
Our final second grade
science unit studies the topics of air and weather. In order to gain a
better understanding of how weather cycles and changes, each student is
responsible to create and present a weather report. To do this the
students must use map skills, use technology to access useful information
on the Internet, read and interpret weather information (such as
temperature and sky conditions) and make a presentation that uses public
speaking skills to communicate their ideas with others.
Predicting weather is often a difficult thing to do, even for professional meteorologists. The students in our class have worked carefully in order to put together a weather report that is correct as possible. Since this is the students' first time making a weather report, some unintentional errors may occur. If you need to find the most current weather for the Metro-Detroit area, try looking at any of the following professional Internet weather sites: Fox 2 News Five Day Forecast, WDIV Weather - Big Picture, WXYZ DetroitNow Weather, Intellicast - Four Day Forecast for Detroit, Michigan, USA Today Forecasts - Detroit, Michigan or Accuweather(R) from The Freep (Detroit Free Press online). The students are interested in what you think of their reports. If you would like to send our class feedback on our Trombly Weather Center, please click here to send the class your thoughts via e-mail. To view a report from the Trombly Weather Center, choose a date from the list below. Click on the date of the report that you would like to watch. You will be taken to the web page that contains the students' video weather reports. The students thank you for your interest. |
