Mr. Buckman's Second Grade Class - It's the End of the Year

The year is drawing to a close. The students take a moment to write their observations about the last days of school through poetry and words.
Getting Out Of School Clark In four more days I get out of school. This week we have a lot of things to do. Today is Monday, June 12, 2000. Tomorrow we have our field trip to Greenfield Village. The day after that we bring everything home. The day after that school dismisses at 11:32 a.m. I am really excited. Swimming By Alexander Swimming through the water is fun, And after that I'll eat a bun And then I can top it with cheese But only if I please. The Last Day Of School By Holly On the last day of school, We get to go to the pool. On the last day of school, We say bye our friends. On the last day of school, We are sad because we have to leave school. On the last day of school, We play with our dads and use their tools. Cleaning up The Classroom Ian 1 Everyday at school, We clean up the classroom. But when we clean up the classroom, I need to go to the bathroom. Summer Pete Four more days of school, I can't wait. When it's summertime I will swim in the pool, It will be great. My Weather Report Alex When I did my report it was fun. I had to use the computer to get the information for my weather report. I had to tell about the weather. I had a great time with my teacher. Cleaning My Desk Peter Cleaning my desk is a horrible thing. My desk is so messy they call me Messy King. While I clean everyone stares at me. I think it's because I have so much junk I just can't clean. My Friends Signing My Yearbook Kara I think my friends like to sign my yearbook, because I think they like me because of who I am. But some of them wouldn't pretend to like me. I would like them to sign my yearbook because I might not see them ever again. I'm lucky that I have friends like them. Summer By Joe When it is getting close to the middle of Summer, It is going to get dryer and hotter. I'm glad I won't have a messy locker, And I am still going to read to be a better reader. My Favorite Yearbook By A. G. I got my year book, It's packed. With people, In fact. I put it in my sack.		My Yearbook By Stuart Getting a new yearbook was very fun. I had people sign it in the sun. When people signed it nobody did the run. I was so happy so I smiled a ton. The Last Day of School By Elliott The last day of school is always fun and sad. It is sad because you don't get to see your teacher or your friends everyday. It is fun because you get to swim in the afternoon when you would usually be in school, you get to play inside and outside and other things. I think the last day of school is exciting. I'm Leaving Class For The Last Time By D. P. I'm leaving class for the last time. The next time I come in the class I'll be in third grade or a higher grade. Five days a week I come in and sit down in the exact same chair. But not at the end of the year that's when we only come in and sit down in our chairs for three and a half days. We don't always have full weeks of school but we always come back in about a week. Except for the last day of school. When you take every single thing you own home with you. Then your classroom looks so empty and it doesn't look right. That's the part I hate most. Summer Fun ! (I Hope) Ian 2 I'm going to the park in the summer. Oh I forgot I had things to do what a bummer. I have to learn how to be a drummer. I don't think this can get any dumber. Getting The Year Book By Jessica Getting the yearbook is very sweet. It's almost like getting a successful child named Pete. Getting the yearbook is like getting free meat. The most complete test of all the rest. Summer Fun By Claire For summer I am waiting, For swimming, reading, in-line skating, Doing stuff like soccer and basketball, also singing. I will spend some time swinging. The Last Day Of School By Spence When I get out of school I'm going to swim every day. I'm going to play with my friends all day long. I'm going to play sports like soccer. I'm going to have fun over the summer. I'm going to rollerblade most of the time. I'm going to play hockey. I'll play catch with my dad. I'm planning to have sleep-over every day. I'll read books every day. I'll practice handwriting every day. I'll practice spelling every day. Saying Good-By To Friends By Luke I'm saying good-by, It's time to pack. Farewell my friends, But all be back. I'll come back on a summer day, And there I hope is where I'll stay. All stay there for a very long time, Until I have a house of mine. But then I might go, To somewhere faraway. But I'll be back, Another hot day.
