Ideas for Mr. McCaughrin's Collection of Insulators
Mr. Buckman's Second Grade Class
When the class was studying artifacts as a part of their Social Studies, Mrs. McCaughrin brought in a ceramic insulator (seen photo below) that belonged to her husband, Mr. McCaughrin.  She thought it would be fun to compare it with the clear insulator in our classroom.  When we found out that Mr. McCaughrin had many more insulators at his house, the class thought of ways that he could put them to use.

 

Ideas For Mr. McCaughrin

1. Mr. McCaughrin could put a screw driver and screws in it. 
2. He might be able to put a candle or light bulb in it. 
3. Mr. McCaughrin could grind things with the bottom. 
4. He could crush eggs with the bottom. 
5. Mr. McCaughrin carry water in the insulator. 
6. He might be able to use it as a lemon sqeezer. 
7. Mr. McCaughrin could use it as a lamp holder in the garden. 
8. He could use four for wheels for a clay car. 
9. Mr. McCaughrin could use some as wheits for exercising. 
10. He could ad four clay legs, and two clay ears, and a tail to make a cat.
