Groundhog Day Forecast from Room 113
Mr. Buckman's Second Grade Class
On February 2, the students learned facts about the groundhog and the legend of groundhogs being used to forecast the beginning of Spring.

In our classroom, we have a stuffed toy animal named Trombly Bob.  Each year, Trombly Bob and the students go outside around 2:00 p.m. to find out if Trombly Bob can see his shadow. When he sees his shadow, it is said that there will be 6 more weeks of Winter.  When he does not see his shadow, it is said that Spring will come early.

Look below for the Trombly Bob Spring forecast.

Room 113 Students with Trombly Bob on February 2.

The students took Trombly Bob outside at 1:45 p.m. this year to check for shadows. The students were able to clearly see Bob's shadow, so we will be having 6 more weeks of Winter. Thanks, Trombly Bob!
