Any final words?
Dr. Begely: B-cells are also the guard dogs of the body. When an infection is over, the memory B-cells help keep the body prepared for another encounter with the enemy. If the memory cells were non-existent... people would constantly be sick... diseases would become much more life threatening. So, really... B-cells are imperative to a healthy, functioning immune system.
Dr. Shelly: Not only do T lymphocytes begin the immune response of the body, but they also finish it. Suppressor T-cells are the last of the active lymphocytes in an infection. They... of course... help to dampen the immune response, shut off all the left over B-cells and T-cells, and try to maintain order in the body. Essentially, T-cells make sure that the body is perfectly safe and secure after all the commotion of an invasion... once they finish their job, there are no threats left to the body.
All right. You know your infections. Didn't one of these doctors forget something important?
