Exercise your knowledge of Human Defenses and the immune system by listening in on this conversation, and then decide. Which type of lyphocytes are more important? What do you think doctors?
Dr. Begely: Well, I'd definitely have to say that B-cells are more important to our immune system. After all, B-cells are the main component of the humoral immune response. They, alone, continuously circulate through the blood stream neutralizing invaders.
Dr. Shelly: T-cells, naturally. Well, first off, there are three different classes of T-cells. They have specialized classes, each with specific jobs. For example, Helper T cells are made strictly to attach to antigens and destroy invaders of the body. T-cells definitely have more control over immune responses in the human body.
Woah, hold it right there! Someone's got their facts wrong. Can you correct the doctor that made the mistake?
