Purpose
The purpose of this module
is for you and your learners to be able to design and publish
web
pages. We hope to equip you with the skills needed to
use this new and exciting way of presenting your information
to the world. Today, web pages are being published faster
than printed documents and, in some communities, are more
accessible. Learning to publish a website gives you and your
learners the opportunity to share information with educators
and learners around the world if they have Internet access.

There is more to web publishing
than just typing a document. Web documents are dynamic - they
can be changed and updated daily and can be linked to many
other pages. This means they can be read in different ways
because they have active links to other documents on the World
Wide Web. A web page and a website should therefore be carefully planned before
being constructed. This module concentrates on that planning
process. We suggest you follow a learning pathway for this
module that includes all the activities consecutively, because
planning a website involves a step-by-step process. There
are one or two additional optional pages to read but otherwise
you should complete activities 0 - 12.
