To start Encarta click on Start and look for Microsoft Encarta on the Programs list. Select Encarta Reference Library 2002

You will come to the Reference Library 2002 Home Page.

For a general search, type in the keyword in the Find bar at the top left of the page.

If you want to search for a specific type of media (e.g. pictures, animations, maps etc), first click on the resource type before proceeding with the search.

Icons on the left of the list of results indicate what type of resource it is. If there is no icon it is a text article. Other icons represent:

video
animation
chart
archive item
more resources (click on +)
