Eleven schools were targeted to receive donations
from a well-known IT company in the province. Lehurutse Primary School
was one of the lucky schools that received five computers from the company.
Immediately after receiving the computers, the school fitted out a small
computer lab and the equipment was installed. The staff members were
very excited about the equipment. They all began to use it immediately.
To everyone's surprise, as the school approached the exam period, every
educator decided to type his or her own exam paper on the computer.
Three days before the deadline for the exam papers to be submitted,
a disaster occurred.
The principal was busy in the office, when two educators
rushed in, in a panic!
.
"We cannot print out our exam papers. The printer is not working
properly. Everything that we try to print out is very faint, and illegible.
A flashing message appears on the screen. It says that there is no toner.
When we told the administrator this, she says there is nothing left
in the budget for purchasing more toner," the first educator shouted.
The second educator added, "There is also no spare typing paper
at the school. What are we going to do?"
As the principal was busy with these two educators,
a third educator walked into the office.
"I don't understand it. I need to send some information to my learners
and I cannot access the Internet. The administrator says our Internet
service has been suspended, because we haven't paid our account. The
learners need this information before their exams. What am I supposed
to do?".
