1. Introducing the Problem

"You are the President of the Sierra Club, and have been asked to go before the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States of America to convince them to allocate funds towards a survival program that would best protect two endangered species." After choosing two endangered species from the list provided, use the following grid to evaluate and choose the best strategy to help protect and/or save each animal.

Which program would be best?
When choosing the best program, ask yourself which is best suited for that particular species based on the research performed on the criteria. The following is a list of programs that might save your endangered species:

Captive Breeding and Reintroduction Programs

Public Education Programs

Relocation of Species

Stricter Laws for Animal Preservation

Wildlife Refuges

Using Clarisworks or Microsoft Word develop a list of questions that help narrow down the choice of programs.

3. Assessment

4. Presentation

Your presentation will consist of a slide show such as Clarisworks, Powerpoint or Hyperstudio. Although your research may prove that one survival program would best benefit both of these animals, it might also show that two different programs would be the best approach. Your final presentation should include a picture of both the species and their natural habitat.
