Previous experience
You do not require previous computer experience
to complete this module. We recommend that you are able to
achieve the outcomes of the module on Questioning
and Thinking Skills before you begin this module. Together,
these two modules will make up a learning pathway that will
help you to acquire information skills.
Module requirements
You should start with Activity 0 to meet
the members of your group. We strongly recommend that you
follow the activities in the order in which they appear. Activities
1-6 are compulsory, but Activities 7 to 9 are optional.
You are required to interact by e-mail
with members of your group during this module. This interaction
is part of the activities and you must follow the instructions
of each activity carefully.
Once you have completed the module, we
will ask you to complete a short self-assessment form, based
on the outcomes of the module.

Web access
In order to participate in this module
you will need access to a computer that is linked to the Internet.
You will also need a Web browser such as Internet Explorer
5 (or later) or Netscape 4.6 (or later) to access websites
during the module. We expect that you will be spending a considerable
amount of time on the Internet during the course of this module.
You will need to be aware of the likely telephone costs before
deciding to start this module.
Certificate of completion
For your module to be declared complete
and for you to be eligible for a Certificate of Completion,
you must:
- complete the required number of activities;
- interact with your group;
- complete the self-assessment and module
evaluation forms.
The module lasts for five to six weeks.
Your mentor will inform you of the final deadline date.
